“To empower creativity by providing a meticulously curated collection of unique and high-quality tools for makers, professionals, and hobbyists everywhere.”

Canopy Quill & Co. was founded in Portland, OR, with a simple mission: to source and share unique, high-quality creative supplies that inspire. We are passionate about supporting a diverse community of makers by providing tools that are as beautiful as they are functional.

The warm, inviting storefront of Canopy Quill & Co. in Portland

From a Passion Project to a Portland Staple

What began as a personal obsession with the tactile feedback of heavy-weight paper and the perfect flow of archival ink evolved into a mission to build a sanctuary for the creative spirit. Nestled in the heart of Portland's Pearl District, Canopy Quill & Co. was born from the desire to create a physical space where makers could touch, feel, and experience tools that are often lost in a digital-first world.

Our city's independent and artisan culture flows through everything we do. From our Cedar Branch Way studio, we host local workshops and collaborate with neighborhood artists to ensure Portland remains a beacon for those who still value the art of the handwritten word and the hand-drawn line.

What We Stand For

Our sourcing philosophy is built on three pillars that define our contribution to the creative ecosystem.

Curation over Quantity

Every item in our shop is hand-picked. We test hundreds of journals, pens, and palettes to ensure that only the most reliable and aesthetically pleasing tools reach your desk.

Community Focus

We are dedicated to supporting the local creative ecosystem. A portion of our proceeds monthly goes to supporting youth art programs throughout Oregon.

Conscious Consumption

We champion sustainable and ethically sourced products, prioritizing small-batch makers who utilize recycled materials and fair-labor practices.
